So, you want and adventure but you have no money.
A car, no mater how small, will fit you, a friend, some camping gear and some mechanical bits and pieces in it.
Get online and scour places like Ebay, look at the local newspapers as well. What you are looking for is a decent little ‘run around’ or ‘ideal first car’. You should be able to find a car for less than £500, $1000 or 600 Euros.
My little Nissan Micra that got me to Mongolia and back cost me £200.
Another option to go for nowadays is the nice, fairly new vehicle being sold cheap due to it’s large engine. Take the following example. Get four of you, you all contribute, get a 4×4 with a V8 engine that’s thirsty. Drive to somewhere where the fuel is cheap. Tons of room in it and enormous potential for fun off-road. You can save money by just driving at the same mellow speed you would in the cheap small car like my Micra.
The following picture is from Autotrader, a UK vehicle sales service (both online and in magazine form). My brother had one of these and had to sell it for a ridiculously low price. Everything electric inside, sunroof, gadgets, air conditioning, etc. This vehicle was going for £500… that’s insane!
The above vehicles, if you can get them home again after the trip would fetch you nearly £200 for scrap metal in some countries…. so who cares what you do to them or how well you look after them.
